Are You Ready?

Halloween brings about a constant concern for people all over the world.  That concern is the inevitable zombie apocalypse.  Now everyone says that they would grab their close friends and family and fight back against the zombies.  But, I have a feeling it would not be that easy.  True, I would grab my friends and family, but I would also have a team set up to battle back against them.  So, from today until the end of November, I will release a celebrity draft pick and what character I would want them to play.

But, before I release my number 1 draft pick let me tell you how my team will be set up.  There will be 31 draft picks total.  Those picks will be split between 5 teams.  The teams will consist of 3 assault teams, a sniper team, a support by fire team, and a bait team.  Amber Kelly will oversee all five of these teams.  Her codename is "The Queen."  Colin "Winks" Kelly, myself, and Adam "Danger" Miller will lead the assault teams.  Adam "Pug" Pugliese and Aybree "Lady Pug" Pugliese will lead the sniper team.  And Josh "Jumpy" Rechcygl will lead the bait team.

Now is the moment you all have been waiting for.  Here is the number 1 draft pick.  He was an easy choice for me and will join my assault team.  The number 1 draft pick is Sir Anthony Hopkins as "Hannibal Lecter."  You may say that this is a terrible number 1 pick.  But, let me ask this.  What do zombies eat?  Brains.  Now imagine being able to turn the table and have someone on your team that if they want to eat your brains, he'll eat there's right back.

Are You Afraid Of The Dark?

A movie was said "Being afraid of the dark is what keeps most of us alive."  I have to say that this is very true.  People will say that in order to grow up, you must overcome your fears.  In all actuality, fear can never be outgrown.  There is no such thing as a person with no fear.  Fear keeps us safe.  Fear is an essential for living.  It has become a life process.  If you believe that my words are false let me present you with some scenarios.  If you still believe that you have no fear inside of you chances are that you are lying to yourself.  For instance, you are walking down the street late at night and you have the choice of continuing to walk down the well lit street or walking down a dark alley, you will continue walking down the street. Why?  Because a fear of the dark is telling you that you do not know what is down that alley.  There could be nothing, or there could be a mugger.  You do not know, but your fear of the dark guides you away from that.  If you think that this is just for people afraid of the dark, then let me offer you this scenario.  Go out into the desert and find a rattlesnake.  Now you have too options.  Option one is to pick up the rattlesnake, which you know is poisonous.  Option two is to listen to your fear of getting bitten and walk away from it.  Chances are you will listen to the fear and walk away, but suppose you feel you have no fear.  Well, try this.  Pick up the snake, hold it by the tail six inches from your face and do not move when it strikes.  You would probably say that what i told you to do is the dumbest thing you have ever heard and that you won't do it.  That is true.  But, you also will not do it because you know that the snake will strike and you are afraid to be bitten.  Fear is all around us.  Fear always survives.  Fear is what we see as an enemy, but we should value it as a brother.  Fear is our strength to live.

The Family Tree Lumberjack

Are family trees disappearing as fast as the rain forests?  It seems families have grown apart and friends have replaced brothers and sisters.  Our parents are always and will always be there for us, but where have our siblings gone?  Is it right to turn your back when you don't agree? Or judge them by what they post on Facebook?  We should be more accepting of the people that our brothers and sisters love and love them and welcome them into the family.  When friends begin to replace family, that is where our problems begin.  So, I challenge you to be more accepting.  If things do not change, we'll have to call it a family flagpole instead of a family tree.

Polyga-nasty

So...I'm watching television with the wife and she turns on this show.  At first I thought it would be a good show, but it actually really bugged me.  The show was Sister Wives.  It's about a guy who is a polygamist and has three wives and a fiancee and about 90 kids.  I came to the realization that I really don't like that way of life.  It seems really crappy to be one of his wives and have to wake up sharing your husband.  Then I came to some more realizations.  First, if polygamy is illegal in the United States, then how can they record this stuff and put it on television?  I suppose it's almost similar to how Intervention can record someone getting high and put it on television.  Second, why are all polygamist husbands ugly?  This guy seems like he would have a hard time getting one wife let alone four, but looking at his four wives, he's only batting .500 in the looks department.  Lastly, how does one share their spouse?  It's pretty much a slap in the face when your husband wakes up one day and is like "I'm gonna go find a new woman."  Is this due to an extreme amount of insecurity and a lack of self confidence? Or is it more of an over secure marriage and too much confidence?  In my opinion, it's not right.  Think of how messed up your kids are gonna be.  Anyway, that is my thought for today.
